Welcome everyone!

Moo,

welcome to my outdoor activities weblog. My name is Marc and I am 30 years old. I'm living in the north of Germany and going outdoor as often as I can. I travel around in Europe, USA and Asia and doing trekking-tours - sometimes alone and sometimes together with a friend.

This weblog is for describing my several trekking tours and sports activities around Europe for all those people who are interested in it. I will also provide you with GPS tracks and waypoints of my several tours.

I also do some Bookcrossing and Geocaching in Germany and the rest of the world. Geocaching is a relatively new international sport is a hunt for small boxes called "caches" using a GPS device. People hide these boxes everywhere (mostly at nice places which are worth to visit) and publish the geo-coordinates into a big database at geocaching.com. The goal is to find the cache, make an entry into the logfile and trade some stuff (mostly small gadgets and lowcost toys) and to have maximum fun :)

Bookcrossing is like trading books with unknown people and having an overview where my released books travel around. Every book that you wish to release gets an unique ID and is therefore trackeable if the finder makes a online log-entry. I like the idea of sharing alread read books. Why should my books getting dusty in my bookcase if other people can have fun with it?

Here is a list of some treking-tours I made the last two years:

  • Gran Canaria (Canary Islands)
  • La Palma (Canary Islands)
  • Crete E4
  • E1 starting from the Danish borderline
  • Tour Du Mont Blanc (two times, 2003 and 2004)
  • Mnt Rainier National Park
  • Finland - Karhunkierros (winter-tour)

Thats all for now - Marc
